We try to expand and update our homepages all the time and thank you in advance for any information and suggestions and encouragement that will help us in our work.
As we had our 3 years anniversary on the net in november 2002, we made a little congratulatory page about the Kanotguiden with some statistics from the beginning and quotes from friendly mails about our services.
If you too enjoy our site, we would greatly appreciate if you tip a friend about it or maybe put a link to the Canoe guide. Just copy the blue text below and paste it into your own homepage.

Tour presentations
Here we explain and give some tips about how to understand and use the tour presentations and the Kanotguiden pages. The tours are based on descriptions and maps from tourist offices, canoe and kayak centers, canoe clubs and our own paddling tours. By offering a wide selection of tours we hope everyone can find and enjoy at least one trip in Sweden.
Navigating between the provinces
From now on you can navigate directly at any province map to surrounding provinces at the same map. So you don't have to return to the map of Sweden in order to choose another province.
The menu choice Choose type of tour lets you choose between White-water paddling, Wilderness tours, Sea-kayaking, Archipelago tours and others.
We have combined all inland trails on rivers and lakes that are possible to continue downstream without too many and too long portages. This has resulted in about 800 trips with a distance of about 10 km:s to 577 km:s. So, if you please visit the Long-distance paddling page, you will find trips lasting for half a day to several weeks.
Now possible connections downstream has been added to the tour descriptions. If there is a continuation, information containing a link to the tour, portages (if needed), distance and degree of difficulty (if relevant) follows.
Starting from the south we now add the map-sheets numbers for the tour if you would like to buy the maps. The map is called the "Terrängkartan" with the scale 1:50 000 and is very detailed and perfect for paddling.
During the coming years we intend to develop and extend the tour descriptions as much as possible. That implies both the descriptive text with guiding tips, more pictures and even more links to canoe and kayak rentals, other services and what is worth seeing along the
trails.
Moreover also new tour suggestions come to our knowledge and are added successively and sometimes we hopefully think that the number of canoeing and kayaking waters in Sweden perhaps is rather endless.
Key maps
Now maps from Google are added to all tour presentations. You can zoom in double-clicking on the left mouse button, zoom out with the right and drag the map with the left button pressed. There are also navigation tools and map needles showing coordinates and so on placed on the map.
Detailed maps for each trip from hitta.se
Perfect if you want to study a trip more thoroughly, as this map shows a lot more details. You can zoom into a scale of about 1:7700 and the "Kartfunktioner" up to the right will help you to determine coordinates, measure distance and so on. You will find the link to the detailed maps
directly after the name of the trip.News and updates
