19 Väddö kanal

This is a day trip on the sheltered waters west of Väddö and Björkö. You can start from the Älmsta bridge and paddle as far as you want and in whatever direction always with the wind behind. The canoe rental offers transporting.

There are many possible detours and ashore visits to be done, for example at the Björkögården summer café (0176-91055) or to pass the narrow strait of Norrede to discover the inside of Björkö.

The trip can be prolonged to a two days round tour by rounding the whole of Björkö and to keep on paddling northward. Soon you will reach Simpnäs village with a coffee-shop and a museum well worth visiting. 15 km:s further to the north you will enter Sandviken, where the the canoe rental will arrange for your return to Älmsta.
