Paddle in Uppland

Canoeing in Uppland, Sweden
Uppland is a province where plains dominate the landscape. This is especially true in the area around the towns of Uppsala and Enköping. The Roslagen area in the east, is more hilly and forested, as is the area towards the Västmanland border.

Uppland's lakes are few, instead the province offers a great many streams to paddle on. There are also many fine opportunities for archipelago paddling along the coast. These include the waters around Rådmansö, the Ängsö Nature Reserve and skerry paddling inside Väddö-Vätö and Vaxholm.

The canoe trails of Uppland generally run through built-up areas, but there are exceptions. Storån River in the northwest and the Kolamoraån in the northeast flow past large lonely forests far from signs of civilization.
