19 Lagaleden övre

The wellknown canoe-route of Lagaleden begins in the northern part of Lake Unnen, continues over the large lake Bolmen and then follows down the stream of Bolmån which later flows into the river Lagan. There are some bird protection areas along the route that have a limited entrance policy in effect.

For about one km there is a white-water stretch in the Bolmån river between lake Kösen and the Nöttja village, called the Kvarnaforsarna. Paddling here is only permitted between 10 am and 5 pm and so only by experienced paddlers as there are many difficult passages. Instead, as a change, you can have a nice walk for about 3 km:s with canoe cart past the rapids.

You can also start from the little village of Bolmen in the southern part of lake Bolmen or where the Bolmån river starts. From the town of Traryd Lagaleden nedre (the lower Lagaleden) continues past the town Markaryd and then into the province of Halland to the sea and Laholmsbukten.

Continue to Lagaleden nedre via 1 portage (0.3 km).
