The lower part of the popular canoe-route Lagaleden also helps you in training your legs, because there are plenty of portages.

You can make a nice detour upstream the Lillån towards some beautiful small lakes just outside the town of Markaryd. Another tip is the perfect canoeing waters at lake Hörneredssjön some 10 km:s after Knäred village.

Back on the river, just a few km before the outflow into the bay of Laholmsbukten, you will pass the little idyllic town of Laholm. It is the oldest town in Halland and has a long history dating back to the 13th century.
