11 Åbyfjorden

The inlet of Åbyfjorden cuts deep into the country and the mighty rocks of Bohuslän. A trip along the shores takes 1-2 days and offers beautiful and imposing sceneries, which have included Åbyfjorden in the EU Natura 2000 reserves.

Near the mouth of Åbyfjorden outside Näverkärr there are many nice kayaking areas and not far from there you will find Malmön island, where the stone industry was born during the 19th century and spread granite from Bohuslän all over the world.

You can start this trip from Vrångebäck on the east side of the Åbyfjorden.
